Industrial Property Diagnosis, a new service of the SPTO to help companies growDo you know about the new Industrial Property Diagnosis Service of the OEPM? The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (SPTO) has just launched a new service to promote the enhancement of Spanish companies in the national and international market. This service will be very useful for us to promote both the competitiveness and the internationalization of Spanish companies, which are key in the new Strategic Plan 2021-2024 of the OEPM. Qualified experts from the SPTO analyze the intangible assets that the company owns and, based on this analysis, offers recommendations aimed at promoting the implementation of a management strategy based on competitiveness and differentiation. The Industrial Property Diagnosis Service arises with the aim of being a tool for raising awareness and approximation of Industrial Property (IP) for innovative SMEs and business units that do not use Industrial Property rights (IPR) or that do not use them in an effective way. In this way, two complementary objectives are achieved:
With this service, the OEPM wants to become a more proactive administration, closer to companies and users of industrial property systems, and giving them a service of high added value that can lead them to discover intangible assets that will become key to their growth economically and for your future business initiatives. During the year 2021, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) will offer discounts for Spanish SMEs of 75% of the cost of the service through the management of a European Commission Grant Fund endowed with € 20 million.
