Technology Alerts: new free service from the SPTO

The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) has launched a new service providing free technology information: Technology Alerts. Its purpose is to provide up-to-date information on the most recent patents published internationally on a specific technical topic.

Topics
The topics for each alert will be established in collaboration with the Technology Platforms so that they meet the needs of companies and public research bodies in the different technology sectors.

This is in line with the SPTO’s commitment, taken on in 2012, to collaborate with the Platforms for the purpose of providing companies, researchers and R&D managers with information on patents to ensure that the technology they generate is of value, allowing for financial returns and improving competitiveness and internationalisation for their businesses.

These Technology Alerts, which are updated on a daily basis and cover a specific technical topic, together with the Technological Surveillance Bulletins, quarterly publications that include a selection of the most relevant patents published worldwide in 14 different technology sectors, make up the free technology surveillance services that SPTO patent examiners have been providing since 2008.
