New order of SPTO public prices
On Thursday, March 26, the new Order ITC/742/2009 of March 20 was published in the Official State Bulletin, establishing the public prices of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office.
This Order, in accordance with the Plan for reducing administrative costs within the State Administration, reflects the reclassification of some of the public price rates charged by the SPTO, as well as their modification.
As a result of the logical development of services, new technologies and user demand, along with responding to current needs, the concepts and amounts of current public prices have been reformulated, thereby eliminating, reducing and simplifying public prices of services offered by the SPTO.
It should be pointed out that amounts of public prices reflected in the Order valid in 2004 have not been updated, which results in a de facto reduction of those amounts.
Important changes reflected in the new Order include:
Bimonthly and weekly editions of the BOPI in CD-ROM, DVD and electronic format have been eliminated
The publication in paper format of the International Patent Classification (IPC) has been eliminated
The annual subscription to the CIBEPAT data base has been eliminated
The price for Annual Indices of Inventions, Trademarks and Designs have been made the same
Various bimonthly information services of the SPTO data bases have been eliminated
A new Trademark Surveillance service has been created
The price of various SPTO forms have been eliminated: application forms, folders, descriptions, records, printed sheets and reports
A new service is created: Edict Inclusions in the BOPI
The Order will become effective on May 4th.
