The SPTO signs an agreement with Navantia to promote IP
On January 24, the Undersecretary of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, and the President of the SPTO, Amparo Fernandez, along with the president of Navantia, Aurelio Martínez, signed a cooperation agreement to promote the culture of Industrial Property (IP) in an effort to increase the number of patent applications and, therefore, greater protection of technological innovations developed within a field so rich in tradition in Spain as that of the naval industry.
The agreement forms part of a framework for measures to support businesses in the area of IP (patents, trademarks and designs) of the SPTO, and aims at promoting the culture of Navantia, a company very active in research, development and innovation (R&D+i). Therefore, these planned initiatives will further deepen the knowledge and methodology of Industrial Property, resulting in an increase in patents that effectively protect the company’s R&D+i results.
