SPTO-UIMP Summer Course
For the past five years, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and the Menéndez Pelayo International University have organized a summer course on various current issues in Industrial Property. In this sixth edition, the course will focus on "Innovation, Patents and Company Internationalization" highlighting the need to make strategic use of Industrial Property instruments of protection as differentiation and specialization factors for companies.
By employing various perspectives, the course will cover the importance of protecting innovations in the internationalization of companies and serve as a meeting point for top leaders of Industrial Property at both the national and European level, as it will be attended by the President of European Patent Office, the President of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), the Secretary of Industry, Tourism and Trade and the Director General of the SPTO.
The course will also feature the participation of representatives from the institutional sector, including the Executive Vice President of ICEX, the Managing Director of ENISA, the President of the Spanish Court of Arbitration and a high level of participation on behalf of business representatives, including the President of Freixenet, the General Director of Mango and the General Counsel of Grupo Cosentino.
The course is aimed at students, small businesses, professionals and individuals in general who are interested in gaining a closer understanding of Industrial Property and wish to further expand their knowledge of it.
