UIMP Summer Course: ‘Protecting innovations in Spain: the new Patent Law’



Since 2006, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), in collaboration with the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), has been holding a Summer Course on the latest trends and challenges in Industrial Property. This year, the eleventh, the course will be entitled ‘Protecting innovations in Spain: the new Patent Law’, and will cover the changes introduced by Act 24/2015 of 24 July on Patents, which is to enter into force on 1 April 2017.

This course, which amounts to a strategic forum and meeting-place for Spanish and European leaders in Industrial Property, welcomes students, SMEs, professionals and anyone interested in learning more about the topic in general or about specific aspects of it.

Dates and enrolment
The course will be held from 11 to 15 July at the Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander. Among those present on the first day will be the Under-Secretary for Industry, Energy and Tourism (and President of SPTO), the President of the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Executive Director of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
