The Primary Education School (CEIP) Francisco de Quevedo de Leganés in the SPTO

On December 12, the SPTO rejuveneced: A group of sixth grade students visited our headquarters within the framework of COP25. In addition, the children coincided with the visit of the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, who served as an exception hostess.

The program aimed to give visibility to inventions related to climate change and to promote the creation of sustainable solutions among the little ones. For this, 49 students of the CEIP Francisco de Quevedo de Leganés (Madrid) made a guided tour through the Exhibition “Energy Sustainability: 540 years since the first privilege registered in Spain” on wind energy, where they could see the evolution that the windmills since its inception, 540 years ago, until today. Later they held the workshop "It's time to act" where by groups of 7/8 students they designed the new posters and slogans for the next COP26 in Glasgow and provided ingenious solutions to the problem of cleaning plastics in the oceans. All this was reflected in 6 posters that were exhibited at the SPTO. Finally, they were transferred to IFEMA to visit the green zone of COP25

Industrial Property rights (patents, trademarks and industrial designs) play an important role in giving visibility to this type of "green" inventions, promoting innovation and creativity. With this event the talent, ingenuity, curiosity and courage of the people who drive change in our world were celebrated.
