INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY CRIME STATISTICSINDUSTRIAL PROPERTY CRIME STATISTICS More than 80% of counterfeit products seized during 2024 were toys. The Spanish Ministry of the Interior has published data on industrial property crimes for 2024 on the Crime Statistics Portal. This data shows crimes against industrial property and items seized in operations carried out by the National Police, Civil Guard, Navarre Regional Police, Mossos d'Esquadra, and local police forces. The total number of counterfeit goods seized in Spain in 2024 amounts to 6,189,015 counterfeit products, with a market value of €251.5 million. Toys are the sector where the most counterfeits have been seized (81.3%), followed by textiles (15.9%); leather goods and accessories (12.3%); and footwear (4.8%). The OEPM reminds us that counterfeits can affect the health and safety of consumers. The case of toys is particularly dangerous as it exposes the most vulnerable population, children.
