Pilot Project: OEPM-CNIPA Contact Point Mechanism The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM) and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) have decided to jointly launch the pilot project for the OEPM-CNIPA Contact Point Mechanism. This initiative responds to the need to better support economic and commercial exchanges between Spain and China. It will also help companies in both countries address issues and concerns related to industrial property in the other country. Both the OEPM and the CNIPA have designated a representative to serve as a contact point for industrial property matters and, as such, will provide advisory services on industrial property issues concerning Spanish companies operating in China and Chinese companies operating in Spain. They will also be responsible for helping these companies obtain effective protection for their intangible assets through industrial property rights. During the project period, Spanish companies with inquiries on this matter may contact the OEPM via the following email address: Maria.Meseguer@oepm.es. Chinese companies with inquiries on this matter may contact the CNIPA’s intellectual property liaison officer via the following email address: ip_support@cnipa.gov.cn. The pilot project for the OEPM-CNIPA Contact Point Mechanism will last one year, from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.
