User satisfaction surveys on different types of protection

Since it was first created, SPTO has always had a commitment to quality, this being essential in achieving a new Administration that can meet the challenges resulting from the transformation of society and citizens’ requirements. As part of SPTO’s quality policy and with a view to improving the services the Office provides, user satisfaction surveys are carried out periodically on different types of protection.

The answers received in the latest surveys of users of Utility Models, National Patents and the PCT System, during June 2012 and May 2013, indicate that there is a high level of acceptance of the services offered by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO). This can be attributed to the efforts made by the Office to improve its processes.

The survey, which addresses applicants, agents and representatives of these types of protection, analyses their satisfaction with aspects such as information, electronic services, the registration process, formalities and staff services, as well as their overall satisfaction with the service provided.

Results
For Utility Models, of note are the results on “Information on the website’, ‘Service Received’ and ‘BOPI’ which indicate a high level of satisfaction: 88%, 85% and 78%, respectively. For National Patents and the PCT System, the results of the survey were also high under ‘Website content’ (79%), ‘Data base queries’ (75%) and ‘Electronic application’ (74%).
