Owners of Spanish trademarks can now use the electronic service for submitting requests from the Madrid System
The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, O.A. (SPTO) has given access from its website to the electronic application submission service of the Madrid System. Through this service, Spanish trademark holders can process their international registration applications completely electronically, through the Madrid e-Filing service for filing applications of the Madrid System.
A key function that has been incorporated into this service consists of access from the application to the Madrid Goods and Services Manager, which allows its users to verify the classification of the terms contained in its list of products and services.
With the adoption of the Madrid e-Filing service of the Madrid System by the Spanish IP Office, the current number of IP Offices offering this WIPO solution rises to thirteen.
It is a digital service that allows the entire international procedure to be processed over the Internet, thus making the international route an easy and accessible way to all users of the Madrid system.
The implementation of the Madrid e-Filing service of the Madrid System allows Spanish trademark owners to take advantage of another of its main functions: the possibility of receiving and responding immediately and electronically to the notifications of irregularity issued by both their Office of origin and by WIPO. This function is available to all participating Offices and allows to shorten the deadlines in the processing of international registrations.
