The Bank of Spain and the SPTO sign an agreement to provide information on patents and utility modelsThe Bank of Spain and the SPTO sign an agreement to provide information on patents and utility models The Bank of Spain and the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) have signed a collaboration agreement to facilitate access by the research community to granular information on patent and utility model applications registered with the SPTO. The agreement will allow researchers from the Bank of Spain and others outside the institution to access, in the secure environment of the Bank of Spain Data Lab (BELab), detailed data that will facilitate the development of economic studies in the field of innovation. The BELab is a controlled environment that guarantees the confidentiality of the information and also allows this information to be combined with other available data collections, thus maximizing its analytical value. The agreement, which will be published shortly in the Official State Gazette, will have a duration of four years, renewable for the same period of time. More information
