One variation of a method for tracking placement of products in a store includes: accessing an image recorded by a mobile robotic system within a store; detecting a shelf in a region of the image; based on an address of the shelf, retrieving a list of products assigned to the shelf by a planogram of the store; retrieving a set of template images—from a database of template images—defining visual features of products specified in the list of products; extracting a set of features from the region of the image; determining that a unit of the product is mis-stocked on the shelf in response to deviation between the set of features and features in a template image, in the set of template images, representing the product; and in response to determining that the unit of the product is mis-stocked on the shelf, generating a restocking prompt for the product.

A system and method for global and local category-based item location recognition filtering is provided. A plurality of candidate items associated with a current location within a retail environment are filtered using a global level filter that identifies and removes items associated with an item category that is not a confirmed category for the recognized location. A local level filter analyzes item count values for the remaining candidate items to identify and remove low-count items. If any single item count is below a threshold, the low count items are removed. If all the candidate items are low count items at the item level, a count values for all candidate items in the same category are aggregated into a category-level item count value which is used to identify low count items. The low-count items are filtered out to eliminate false positives for improved accuracy and reliability of the item-to-location mapping results.

A system receives and automatically transforms utility pipe attribute data and pipe break data. The missing and/or incorrect entries in the pipe attributes and/or break 5 data is automatically identified and correct values for these entries are is automatically imputed to generate improved datasets of the pipe attribute data and break data. The improved data can be used to build a model with machine learning. Predictions of future likelihood of failure for pipe sections in a network of pipes can be made based on the model. A national database can be created that is filled with environmental data that has been transformed, optimized, merged, and imputed. The national database can be used for many customers to save computational costs. The national database can be used to build the failure prediction model for utility companies thereby saving computational costs.

There is a challenge in creating a seamless food supply chain that aligns with unique characteristics of each food item while considering business values. The present disclosure address the challenges associated with the food supply chain by providing a system and method for evaluating sustainability of a food supply chain network using digital twin. The present discourse describes developing a set of modeling abstractions and a digital twin-based approach to explore ideal supply chains for food, aiming to reduce food wastage, ensure food quality and improve profit margins. In the present disclosure, unique characteristics of fruit supply chains are described which are further applied to food supply chains. Using the characteristics of climacteric fruits, unique requirements that contemporary perishable food supply chains need to consider are described. Furthermore, a digital twin-based approach specifically designed for climacteric fruits is provided to address modeling requirements and enable evidence-based and justification-backed holistic decision-making.
