The preparation method for the biodegradable aliphatic polyester of the present invention includes the following steps: dispersing a polyester product obtained by an esterification reaction and a polycondensation reaction in a tetrahydrofuran aqueous solution to carry out contact treatment, and carrying out post-treatment to obtain the biodegradable aliphatic polyester, wherein a duration of the contact treatment is 2 - 20 hours, and a temperature is 20-65°C. The biodegradable aliphatic polyester of the present invention has a whiteness index of ≥20 and an acid number of ≤1.45 mg KOH/g. Through the contact treatment process with the tetrahydrofuran aqueous solution, the low acid number is maintained while the color of the aliphatic polyester is improved, and meanwhile, the aliphatic polyester does not undergo performance degradation.
